Creating Dazzling Smiles
for Over a Decade

CT Braces: Serving Up Smiles With Modern Braces in Connecticut

In the over 100 years that they’ve been in use, braces have evolved to become an incredibly efficient method of achieving amazing smiles. Today’s braces are great for kids, teens, and adults, and there are multiple options to choose from.

At CT Braces, we use these effective appliances to create spectacular results for patients of all ages. With over a thousand five-star reviews across six convenient locations, you can rely on CT Braces to be the provider of your brand-new smile.

Get Started With Braces

The Many Benefits of Braces

The benefits of braces go well beyond an aesthetically pleasing smile. While the look of your smile is important, we want patients to know that straighter teeth can be life-changing in many ways. Here’s how braces support more than just an amazing smile:

Alleviating Headaches

Unbalanced bites can strain your jaw and facial muscles, which can lead to frequent tension headaches. Braces can align your bite, relieving pressure and discomfort over time.

Aiding Digestion

Effective chewing is important for proper digestion. When your teeth are aligned with braces, they can break down food better, leading to more efficient digestion and long-term wellness.

Making It Easier to Brush and Floss

Oral hygiene is crucial to your overall health. Crowded or spaced teeth are harder to clean correctly, leading to an increased risk of plaque buildup and gum disease. Straighter teeth make brushing and flossing easier.

Preventing Oral Health Issues

Misaligned teeth are prone to premature enamel wear, cavities, and can lead to gum irritation. When you straighten your teeth with braces, you’re protecting your teeth and gums now and forever.

Types of Braces Available at CT Braces

CT Braces is proud to offer two types of braces at all six of our locations, giving you the option to choose what treatment is right for you.

Traditional Metal Braces

Metal braces are our most popular braces option. They involve stainless steel brackets bonded to your teeth, an archwire that connects the brackets together, and elastic bands to hold everything in place. Kids, teens, and adults alike love choosing the color of their elastic ties at each appointment!

Clear Ceramic Braces

Clear ceramic braces are a great choice for those looking for a more discreet approach to orthodontic care. They work in the same way as metal braces, but the brackets are made from a durable ceramic material that closely matches the color of your teeth.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Braces Treatment?

Braces can treat a wide range of orthodontic cases for patients of all ages. If you’re experiencing any of the following concerns, braces may be right for you:

  • Crooked Teeth: Misaligned teeth can affect your everyday life, from chewing to oral hygiene.
  • Crowding: Braces can create proper space between teeth if they are too close together.
  • Gaps Between Teeth: If there are significant gaps between certain teeth, braces can bring them together to create a more balanced smile.
  • Crossbites and Overbites: If your teeth don’t align when your mouth is closed, braces can bring them into proper alignment.
  • Open Bites: Braces can help if your upper and lower teeth don’t touch when your mouth is closed, improving speech and function.

If you’re unsure whether braces can suit your needs, our team is happy to answer your questions in a free consultation!

What if Braces Aren’t Right for Me?

For some patients, braces may not be the best solution to achieving a healthier smile. That’s why we’re proud to offer Invisalign® clear aligners, which are a revolutionary alternative to braces! These clear aligners are removable, nearly invisible, and very comfortable. As Top 1% Invisalign Diamond Providers, we’re experts in using this technology to straighten teeth in a variety of cases.

Your Braces Journey Led by CT Braces

We want every patient to be well-informed about what happens throughout their braces treatment at CT Braces. Braces are a valuable tool in your journey to a brand-new smile, and you should understand how the entire process will go. Here’s what to expect during your braces journey:

  1. Your Personalized Consultation

Your braces treatment starts with a free consultation at one of our six convenient locations. We use advanced technology to give you a comfortable and smooth start to your treatment. This technology includes our iTero Digital Scanner, which eliminates the need for messy impressions! At your consultation, we’ll walk you through your treatment plan, estimated timelines, and financial considerations.

  2. Putting Your Braces On

When you’re ready to get your braces on, you’ll sit back and relax while we bond the brackets to your teeth. Your preferred bracket type will be attached to each tooth using a safe adhesive. Then, we’ll thread the archwire through each bracket that will gradually move your teeth to their designated positions. Finally, you’ll pick the color for your elastic ties, and we’ll secure the archwire in place.

  3. Caring For Your Braces

We’ll give you all of our resources on properly caring for your new braces before you leave our office. We understand that braces are a new experience, so we’ll make sure you feel comfortable and prepared to maintain them. We’ll also provide guidance on how to adjust your eating habits and how to clean your braces properly.

  4. Routine Check-Ins

Periodically throughout your treatment, you’ll come back to our office for progress checks and adjustments. Most patients come in every 6 to 8 weeks to get their braces adjusted. During these check-ins, we’ll make sure your treatment is progressing on track. Plus, you’ll get to choose a new elastic color every time!

  5. Protecting Your Final Result

Once your treatment wraps up, we’ll celebrate with you! After your braces come off, you’ll start wearing a retainer to keep your teeth in place. We offer both clear and bonded retainers, and we’ll help you choose the right option for your smile.

Frequently Asked Questions About Invisalign

Does Invisalign Treatment Hurt?

Some mild discomfort may occur when you switch to a new set of clear aligners, but it’s usually short-lived. Any soreness you experience can typically be solved with over-the-counter medications or enjoying your favorite flavor of ice cream!

How Long Does Treatment Take?

The length of your Invisalign treatment varies based on your needs, goals, and case complexity, but most patients complete their treatment in 6 to 24 months.

How Often Do I Need To Visit the Office?

Since we won’t need to tighten your wires or put on new elastics with Invisalign, check-ins are less frequent and shorter. We’ll schedule periodic appointments to ensure your progress is on track, but you won’t need as many visits!
